Forces Involved
- Gravity- Gravity affects everything, including figure skating. Skaters need gravity to skate, but try to defy gravity when they jump.
- Air resistance- Figure skaters try to resist air resistance all the time, especially when they are spinning.
- Friction- Friction is what lets a skater glide across the ice rink. Ice has less friction than other materials, so it makes ice skating possible and way faster than walking.
